DARKSIDE OF SOCIAL MEDIA
This article aims to explain the multidimensional nature of the dark side of social media and the various unwanted consequences associated with it. To do this, we adapt the established social media honeycomb framework to explain the shortcomings of each of the seven functional components of conversation, sharing, presence, relationships, reputation, groups, and identities. Based on these considerations, we present some tools for future research to enable better understanding and use of social media. The dark side of social media affects many aspects of individuals, communities, organizations, and society. Therefore, submissions are not limited to any particular stakeholder or topic.
