When I was a child, my birthday trip to the Carnival was inspiring. When I was little, I adored the carnival and was utterly enamored with mermaids and other fun carnival-related activities. I recall standing in line with my family to view the memories housed inside something like the giant tank. Other kids and a large number of individuals were all around me. When I finally approached the tank, and it was my turn to see the mermaid essentially, I remember getting very excited and jumping up and down in an attempt to show my mother the mermaid tale. After reading the story, I absolyly fell in love with this story. this remind me of so many time I was in the kitchen cooking.  Koul compares the experiences she had learning how to cook from her mother through trial and error in the mini-memoir "There's No Recipe for Growing Up" to the lessons she has learned throughout her life. Because it uses cooking in a very clever way to convey a more profound message about life and development, this story is about more than just cooking.           In the story my overall thoughts it was a very good story.  What’s the stood out to me was that the  Author's father tried to "kill" him and his older brother with random things when they were young. The father is teaching his children, in a way, how to grow up and face their fears. He does it in a way that can give his sons the impression that he is mentally unstable. The Author orders his brother and the Author to go with him to find a fishing rod that belonged to his father after the Author loses it. He instructs the Author to search the water alongside alligators for it. He retreats out of fear; later, he realizes that there probably never was an alligator in the first place; however, his panicked mind leads him to believe there was.
