Sam At The Gun Show
The Piece that was Interesting to me was "Sam at the show" by Greg Bottoms, which was published on September 15, 2002. This story was based on another person telling a story about another person name sam. It gave background information that was based on actual facts about a young boy named Sam and his experience at the gun show today. It also showed a lot of emotion based on the main character, the guy who was telling the story. His name doesn't really say much about him, but he was basically telling a story and he showed emotions to the fact that the guy was annoying the guys and being annoying. It was really awkward how he just For reading this text, it is very descriptive and very interesting. However, the length of the text made me upset. When I first started reading it, I was very interested in the story and wanted it to be longer. It should have also wanted it to be more about one of the main characters, but he didn't give them much information; it was like he was basically telling the story, but we only know that he went to a gun show. The narrative provides compelling factual prose in the form of the story. The gun show is an event where promoters typically rent large public venues, then rent tables as display areas for dealers of guns and related items, and charge buyers admission. This is the creative nonfiction setting of the story. Most weapons available to be purchased at weapon shows are present day brandishing guns. They used Sam imagery that was very descriptive. For Explain “He looks like he's about sixteen, and he has a few spots of cystic acne on his jaw and neck. These big, red carbuncles make me think of how embarrassed I was about my own bad skin when I was his age. He wears loose-fitting jeans and a yellow parka with a zipped neck that, from what I can tell, is an attempt to hide his bad skin. Black, shiny, and almost wet-looking hair falls over his eyes”.The figurative language of the story is that he has bad skin and there is proof as to why he has bad skin. The main point of the story is that Sam, a young boy, is at the gun show and is looking at guns he wants and basically watching everything there. The twist is that he can't afford any of the guns there because he doesn't have enough money or none at all. Even at the conclusion of the story, when he left without finishing his conversation with the man he had just seen his brother in, it raises a little suspicion about where he is. It seemed to me as though he was planning something or was up to something. The characters were Sam, Sam's brother Donald, the grandfather, the white man who was drinking coffee and the man who was telling the story.
