This article aims to explain the multidimensional nature of the dark side of social media and the various unwanted consequences associated with it. To do this, we adapt the established social media honeycomb framework to explain the shortcomings of each of the seven functional components of conversation, sharing, presence, relationships, reputation, groups, and identities. Based on these considerations, we present some tools for future research to enable better understanding and use of social media. The dark side of social media affects many aspects of individuals, communities, organizations, and society. Therefore, submissions are not limited to any particular stakeholder or topic. Social media sites provide tools that allow people to get the approval of others for their appearance and compare themselves to others. It can be linked to body image concerns. "Egocentrics" and those who spend most of their time posting and scrolling are most susceptible to this. In fact, most college girls who use Facebook at least five times a day can associate self-esteem with appearance. That doesn't mean that the main issue is social media. It only provides a medium to make the problem worse. Also encourage others to do the same.
